Learning all notes on the guitar is important - but I don't really remember how I learn't them in the beginning - I think with me it just came over time as I was learning scales and chords and just kept practicing and remembering a few notes here and a few notes there, and over time I just began to connect the dots.

So, if you want to learn all the notes by rote, go ahead - but don't beat yourself up just because you don't, you can't do everything, it will all come to you in time anyway.
